From dramatic full fringes to choppy styles, Brits have mastered the art of having bangs

Some of the most inspiring trends at fashion week are found on the street style scene (looking at you, wraparound cardigan hack). When it comes to serving show-stopping beauty looks, London showgoers never disappoint. The skies may be grey and the air may feel chilly, but we're dialling up the heat with berry-stained lips, dramatic hair accessories and fringes. So. Many. Fringes.

Us Brits are clearly embracing bangs as there seems to be an endless array of fringe styles spotted outside the shows this weekend. From choppy, textured styles and blunt-cut bangs to full fringes and side-parted versions, it's clear that fringe fever is reaching its peak. British stars such as Suki Waterhouse and Daisy Edgar-Jones have long been mainstay inspirations for fringes, so its no wonder that the fashion crowd are leaning into shorter, face-framing pieces and putting their own offbeat spin on it.

How to find the best fringe for your face

There aren't any prescriptive rules. But as a starting point, Taylor Taylor London's director hairstylist Mihaela Vatafu previously shared with ELLE that light and jagged fringes are useful for adding movement without weighing your features down. 'Blunt cuts help create structure on thick hair,' she adds, while 'layered or curtain styles blend naturally with curly textures'. When in doubt, longer fringes are much easier to grow out and always check in with your hairstylist before trimming your own bangs.

Ahead, the best fringe inspiration from London Fashion Week AW25

The Choppy Auburn Fringe

A lesson in matching your outfit to your bangs. This uneven, copper red fringe is edgy and impactful.

The Soft, Full Fringe

Wearable all year round, this full fringe on long hair is relatively easy to style with a round brush and hairdryer.

The Wispy Long Fringe

Embrace joyous curls with shorter, face-framing pieces. It's romantic and fun, especially when accessorised with a giant scrunchie.

The Side-Parted Fringe With Ponytail

A slicked-back hairstyle may be all the rage, but this auburn-tinted updo with a side-parted fringe feels softer and is brimming with personality.

The Blunt Fringe With Bob

A blunt, full fringe paired with an even blunt-er bob is such a power move. Even better, wear it with mismatched pearl earrings peeking through.

The Straight Full Fringe

ELLE's contributing editor Susie Lau has made the full fringe her style signature and we're all here for it.

The Platinum Blonde Fringe

A mullet vibe for 2025? If it looks this cool, we say 'yes, please!'.

The Flapper-Girl Fringe

Bring on the drama with plenty of strong-hold pomade and expertly-done 1920's styling.

The Choppy Textured Fringe

Here's one way to elevate the fringe for mid-length hair: wear it in a traffic-stopping hue and embrace a choppy finish.

The Wispy Straight Fringe

Lightweight bangs bring structure to the face without weighing it down, especially if you have a narrower bone structure.

The Long Pixie With Fringe

Eyebrow-grazing pieces add extra dimension to a longer pixie chop.

The Blonde Full Fringe

Maisie Peters famously sang 'Nothing more frightening than a woman scorned and a box of bleach' but we're eagerly waiting for her to write about how unstoppable bangs can make us feel.

The Octopus-Cut With Fringe

Is it a jellyfish cut or an octopus style? Either way, we can't get enough of dancer Patricia Zhou's trailblazing hair 'do.

The Matchy-Matchy Fringe

Friends that fringe together, stay together. Even better when the bangs are voluminous and soft.

The Side-Swept Fringe

Bring the side-parted fringe into 2025 with a subtler parting and shorter pieces.

A Fringe With A Preppy Bob

The bob haircut with bangs will always feel extra chic. Style it with gentle, flipped-out ends for a preppy, polished finish. Keep your fringe slightly tousled so it feels less prim.

The Micro Fringe With Updo

Baby bangs aren't for the faint of heart, but there's really nothing more audacious.
